November 12, 2009 - Canonsburg, PA – NABCO, Inc. today announced that it has been chosen by the Denmark Ministry of Defense to provide capabilities for containing and mitigating threats posed by chemical and biological threats. The Danish defense acquisition agency has enlisted the company to upgrade three NABCO vessels currently in use by the Ministry for explosive containment, removal and treatment.
“Defense and security agencies around the world are constantly adapting to counter threats posed by dangerous materials and devices,” said NABCO CEO Frank Tobin. “We are proud to offer this critical chem-bio upgrade that will help protect the Danish people.”
NABCO’s containment vessels are able to fully contain a biological or chemical hazard within an IED, before or after detonation. The vessels also feature a self-closing door and include a sampling system to identify hazardous agents. The unit may also be paired with radiological shield, and a NABCO decontamination system that removes harmful and dangerous material after detonation or disposal.
Denmark is among more than 20 countries around the world whose airports, police departments and military services rely on NABCO solutions to safeguard personnel, facilities, communities and the environment against the explosive and chem-bio, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) threats.
“For more than twenty-five years, NABCO solutions have been counted on wherever and whenever hazardous materials pose a threat,” said Tobin. “We are proud to be a trusted partner of U.S. allies around the world.”
